Funds will help to offset plane tickets and lodging and to help sure that kids from all backgrounds have an opportunity to travel and do this very important work.

This will also be a “Revolutions Per Minute” CD Release Concert.

Friday Evening Arts Event—Open to the Public
Civic Space Park

We’ll perform at this special justice-centered General Assembly, including at the “Friday Evening Community Celebration with Partners” in Civic Space Park, which is open to the public! We’ll also have a booth in the Exhibit Hall.

The pushback against AZ’s repressive laws and leaders continues: Russell Pearce, author of SB 1070, was voted out of office in a recall election this fall by the citizens of his district. The Obama Administration has filed a lawsuit to “halt alleged discriminatory practices” by the notorious Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Grassroots organizations, including Puente, National Day Laborers Organizing Network and Mi Familia Vota, are fighting on the ground everyday. And now the worldwide UU community is gathering in Phoenix: “We remain united in our opposition to the unjust laws that Arizona has passed and that have been passed in other states. We are appalled by the human rights abuses that are taking place along our borders as well as in other states in the guise of 'border security.’ The time is coming for all Unitarian Universalists to speak out about these injustices and join voices with our partners in Phoenix.”

“Room for All Christian Camp 2012:
LGBTQ Youth in Search of God”
Crossroads Retreat Center

When we first met Rev. Patty Fox and the folks of the Reformed Church of Highland Park in 2010, we were inspired to learn of their activism on behalf of Indonesian refugees in their community who were threatened with deportation (see the latest in this very moving video) and of their work for LGBTQ equality both inside and outside the church.

This summer, we’re excited to join Rev Patty for the Room for All Christian Camp 2012, where we will be teaching songwriting and harmony singing! Spread the word to youth and parents. Registration is now open and space will fill up quickly.

“Room For All Christian Camp is a Christian youth camp hosted by the Reformed Church of Highland Park, NJ. The camp provides youth ages 14-17 who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender an opportunity to discuss and understand sexuality alongside their own spirituality while spending time with other teenagers and staff canoeing, hiking, arts and crafts, and other exciting activities.

Explore faith and self-identity through the performing and visual arts: painting, drawing, music, movement, theater, spoken word, film making. Room for All Christian Camp seeks to create a safe space for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) youth to develop community and to contemplate together their questions about life and God.”

Info: Room for All Christian Camp 2012 or call 732-249-7349 to speak with camp director Rev. Patty Fox.
