Celebrate Valentine’s Day by Standing on the Side of Love! We’ll sing at this annual event to challenge VA’s ban on same-sex marriage. From the UUCA VA website: “On February 14, Equality UUCF (Fairfax) and People of Faith for Equality in VA will be Standing on the Side of Love in support of Marriage Equality at the Fairfax County Courthouse. A lesbian couple, both women retired Navy veterans who have been domestic partners for 26 years, will be filing for a marriage license. Other gay and lesbian couples who would like to take this step and straight allies who want to demonstrate their support will gather at 1:30. At 2:00 couples will enter the courthouse and Rev. Mary Katherine Morn and Rev. Amanda Poppei will be speaking immediately afterwards. it will close with a candlelight vigil. Come and stand with us! Bear witness as we ask on this Valentines Day, this day of love, to be granted our civil right to marry.” Info: UUCA VA |
